Platform

Everything your utility needs

A purpose-built operations platform for VTN operators. From signal creation to real-time status tracking, every workflow is designed for utility-grade reliability.

One-Click Dispatch

Create and dispatch SIMPLE, ELECTRICITY_PRICE, LOAD_DISPATCH, and LOAD_CONTROL signals to your FlexiGrid aggregator in seconds — with full field validation before transmission.

Live Event Dashboard

Monitor all active, pending, completed, and cancelled DR events in a single filterable view. Drill into any event for the full OpenADR payload, signal parameters, and target site IDs.

Role-Based Access Control

UtilityAdmin and UtilityOperator roles backed by AWS Cognito. Admins manage users and configuration; operators create and view events. Every action is user-attributed.

Precise Time Scheduling

Schedule DR events with exact start and end windows. All datetimes are transmitted as ISO 8601 UTC to the aggregator, eliminating timezone ambiguity across distributed VEN endpoints.

Targeted VEN Groups

Dispatch to specific VEN site IDs or broadcast to all aggregated sites. Target groups let you run curtailment programs across individual feeders, substations, or customer clusters.

Immutable Audit Log

Every dispatched event is persisted to DynamoDB via AppSync with full payload capture. Raw OpenADR payloads, signal parameters, and operator identity are stored for compliance and post-event analysis.

How It Works

From signal creation
to grid response
in under a second.

Enermatics operates as the Virtual Top Node (VTN) in an OpenADR 2.0b architecture. It communicates downstream to FlexiGrid — the Virtual End Node (VEN) — which aggregates distributed energy resources across your grid portfolio.

1

Operator creates a DR event

Choose program type, signal type, intensity level, time window, and target VEN groups — all validated client-side before transmission.

2

Enermatics dispatches to FlexiGrid VEN

The platform posts a structured OpenADR 2.0b payload to the FlexiGrid aggregator API via a secure server-side proxy, eliminating CORS exposure.

3

FlexiGrid instructs distributed assets

The aggregator fans out the demand response signal to enrolled DER sites — batteries, HVAC loads, EV chargers — within your contractual response window.

4

Event is logged and auditable

The full event record, including the raw payload and operator identity, is written to DynamoDB and immediately visible in the dashboard.

Compliance

Built to regulatory standard

Enermatics implements the OpenADR 2.0b specification published by the OpenADR Alliance, ensuring interoperability with any compliant aggregator or energy management system.

Emergency DR

Highest-priority curtailment signals for grid stability events, capacity shortfalls, or emergency conditions. Targets maximum load reduction across enrolled sites.

Economic DR

Price-responsive dispatch triggered by real-time or day-ahead wholesale market signals. Enables utilities to capture economic value from flexible load.

Ancillary Services

Fast-response signals for frequency regulation, spinning reserve, and other ancillary market obligations. Sub-second dispatch latency is critical.

About

The infrastructure layer
for modern grid flexibility

As electricity grids integrate more renewable generation and distributed storage, the ability to dynamically manage demand becomes a critical operational capability. Enermatics was designed specifically for electricity utilities that need to move beyond manual demand management and operate a scalable, standards-compliant DR programme.

By combining OpenADR 2.0b signalling with FlexiGrid's aggregation network, utilities can dispatch demand response instructions to thousands of enrolled assets in a single API call — with full operator audit, role-based access control, and tamper-evident event records stored on AWS.
